Description
The aim of the project was to investigate whether and how plagiarism detection software can be utilized to analyze a set of documents representing the same text. Additionally, it sought to compare traditional methods of textual criticism with the capabilities of plagiarism detection tools. Initial research indicates that plagiarism detection software can indeed be used to identify textual variants across different versions of a text.
Goals
- Investigate if/how a software for plagiarism detection can be utilized to deal with a set of documents that represent the same text.
- Comparison of traditional text criticism and plagiarism detection. This initial research shows that plagiarism detection software can in fact be used to locate textual criticism variants among texts.
